hm.. just to be safe, try drip acclimating.. you really can't go wrong with a 30min. float and 2hr+ drip acclimation.. shipping must be really stressful on them..

I've got a devil's hand leather in my tank that seemed to have taken FOREVER to get comfy!! It was my understanding from posting here, that leathers tend to take a while, and even after they're doing well, they still "go to sleep" from time to time. My dh looks really stunning for most of the day, but just about mid afternoon or so he curls into a little ball for about an hour or two then stretches out again and looks beautiful for the rest of the day.

At one point, he actually went dormant for almost 2 weeks. I was just about thinking that I should remove him, but I decided to give it a little while yet. Within another day or two, he was stretched out bigger and more brilliant than I've ever seen him...again...

Leathers just seem to be a bit more tempramental than the average coral. Just give it some time and patience...it may just surprise you.

Now is a bad time to ship things since its cold out (not too bad here though). Unless you get heat packs while shipping... try getting a leather frag from Teresa from these forums... she sent me a frag of hers last week which came a day earlier than she expected.. I didnt acclimate it (I never acclimate coral), tossed it straight in the tank in the sand bed. Came home a few hours later and it was fully expanded and all the 'tentacles' were completely out :) I plan on shipping one to her.... tomorrow :)

Yeah, that sounds exactly what my devil's hand has done. It's probably fine, just trying to get comfy. Let us know how it works out.
