Shotenheimer fired...

in 1998, the Vikings had the #3 ranked passing and #16 ranked rushing. that's good enough for #1 offense of 1998, but that doesn't put them with the alltime great offenses. and aside from that, "the alltime great offenses" actually go to the Superbowl, the 1998 Vikings didn't. other than neither of them can seem to get to the Superbowl, there's no comparison between Shottenheimer and Green, Shott. is a MUCH better coach. and on top of that, Green appears to have mental problems.

I am suprised that noone gave Singletary or Rivera a shot... i dont think Green will be a head coach ever again... he has been given his chances and has blown em all!!!

im starting to think more and more that riveria will be a college coach, no one seems to want him as a NFL head coach for some reasons because he has had his shot at many jobs already.
the guy has been the next great up and coming coach for like what... 10 years now?

Just like the Dallas hire...both were fired from previous jobs for reasons. I really wish the nfl would stop recycling these losers at head positions.
Norv Turner has a HORRIBLE W-L % as a head coach.
I'd have to say on paper...the Norv Turner and Wade Phillips hires are huge steps back for both clubs. parecells is a better head coach then the Son of Bum and Marty Ball is better than Turner. I always thought the idea was to bring in better coaches after a firing...and the same level or better after a resignation/retire. It appears to me both clubs have failed when you look at the careers of both.
We'll see next season just how good these hires will be. I believe both teams will take steps backwards.
I hate it when these recycled hacks come back. I like the new blood.....Saints and Jets showed what great young coaches can do in changing things around in one year.

Can't argue with that ! There goes the season. The Cowboys feels their pain ... misery loves company.

meh..
i was glad to see him leave the chiefs. after living next to his son for a year at ku i saw that he probably didn't have any influence or coaching skill over anyone. never met shotty personally, but if his son is a reflection of him i don't want to.
