Should I break my reef to cure ich?

My sailfin looks as if he is developing ich. I have a kole as well, but he has no signs. My sailfin is swimming fine, and I have a neon goby. Should I wait and see what will happen, or go ahead and break the whole tank apart and QT him?
Thank you

Also feed them a chunk of shrimp soaked in fresh garlic to build the immune system up to be able to fight it. Turning up the heat to 82 will also help...fish are stronger in warmer temps.

i know theres some ppl out there that are prefect and dont have ick..but it does happen. cleaner shrimp are awesome, but cleaner fish tend to starve unless u have a huge tank. just keep ur levels good and your slalinity low and youll be ok.

I only have the cleaner shrimp...You can't keep salinity low with a reef. Keeping immunity up is the key to health.

Rising you temp only speeds up the life cycle in any event you corals will like the 82 degrees. when was the last time you added anything wet to your tank

When I started in this hobby 3-4 years ago I had an outbreak of Ich in my 72 gallon reef. I tried several bottled treatments, cleaner shrimp, garlic feeding...got some control but no 'cure'. It was a PIA, but I did get a QT tank, cycled it, performed hyposalinity and left the DT fallow for 6 weeks. In the long run (3+) years I am happier and I believe (who really knows) my tank inhabitants are happier as well.
Just my approach after other things failed.

if it isnt a headache, qt all the fish with hypo is the best. otherwise try the cleaner shrimp and uv method. it worked for me when i 1st started.

I had it for a while in my 90 gallon. Instead of treating it I just became hyper vigilant with my tank. I kept the water ultra clean and pure. constant water changes every other week or so. It went away and I havnt had it since. Good Luck!

Most corals like higher temps, 82 is not high...80-84 is actually normal....xenia likes it a little cooler but it is hardy and adjusts. High temps are 86 and above.

Joe is right, high temps just speeds things up ...but fish like the warmth and building the immunity is what will give your fish the edge they need to fight off the ich. Fresh garlic will help as well.
That and with he help of a few cleaner shrimp, I managed to not have ich for a long time now.

I dont mean to hijack the thread, if thats what this is, but im confused by what you mean by adding garlic in their food. Do you soak it in garlic before feeding (if meaty-frozen), or add a some type of liquid form of it in during feeding? What does this do?

I thaw and strain the Frozen meaty food and soak it in garlic the greens I just soak befor i feed.
Is it like pureed and mixed with tank water? As far as I know, theres no garlic 'juice'. Id imagine thatd be pretty strong stuff.
