yes u can add extra fans to the canopy...and as a option...i've seen ppl cut the top off their canopy and place eggcrates as a cover so all the hot air is vented up...
Good idea, thanks. All I have to now is find which fans to buy.

250w are the way to go deffinately if you want to do sps . i would get a good retro kit.. do not buy cheap retro kits the suck..... you can mount 2 fans in the canopy one in one out and you should be fine with heat..... i had a strictly softy tank with 2 175w 20k retros and i couldnt be happier.... i think it is way better vented then the inclosed current or coralife fixture and the bulbs get air also extending the bulb life... my 2 cents
Extending the bulb life? I never thought of that. This is a tough choice.

I have a 6month old 48inch coralife aqualight 2x250w MH, 2x96 PC ACT, 3x1 LED moonlight, 3 cooling fans, dual ballasts. for $550+shipping, the fixture is $1100 brand new. Let me know.
This fixture worked fine in an open top canopy.
I would love to buy your light, but unfortunately BigAls doesn't let me return it, in store credit only. Your light sounds like an excellent deal. I paid $1250 Canadian for it.
