should I treat him or not??? (sharks please)

I have 20gal reef/fish tank. I bought a rabbitfish(small) that had been at the lfs for over a year. I didn't quarantine because (I'm a idiot)no, because he always looked good there. Well a couple days in my tank here and I was sure I could see a white dot at the back bottom part of his tail fin. I immeditately removed him and put him in my QT. The next morning and ever since I can't find absolutely nothing on him, he looks super clean. Its been 6 days now. My question is should I treat him for ich or not? I hate to treat him if he doesn't have it? could he be in there for 3 weeks and if he doesn't show up with a spot..be clean?

Hi:
I'm no shark, but please allow me ask a few questions.
So you observed only one tiny dot? what did this dot look like -please describe it in detail.
Can you tell us about the 20 gal tank, what your water parameters are?, and any info you think is pertinant.
One small spot does not always equal ich.

Appreciate the help, thank you. I can only describe it as a tiny tiny white dot at the very end of the tail fin. I only saw it once (same day) I had my daughter look at it and she said she saw a tiny dot too.
My water is A=0 Ni=0 N=0 ph 8.3 cal 350
Since that time (last Monday) I've looked hard at the other fish in the tank and can't find a thing.??

One dot could have been a single parasite or a grain of sand.
Since the fish was in the main tank already, if it did carry a disease, then it has already introduced it to the main tank. However, a fish that was already at the LFS for yr is probably in pretty good condition.
There's no point in keeping him isolated wo treating all your fish. Since you don't know what he has or even if he had anything, I would go ahead a acclimate him back to the main tank as long as he is healthy now.
However, if something does develop, know that you will most likely need to think about treating all your fish. Do you have a FO tank?

Thank you all so much, yes I have a hospital tank as well. In my 20 I have a lawnmower blenny, a gramma, a yw goby and a manderin ( I know...what your thinking, but he eats frozen and is going into the big tank when its ready, he was a rescue) They all look 100%.
I'll put the rabbitfish back and from now on a dip and QT ! this gave me a scare!
