Well i emailed WWM (wet web media crew) if you have not herd of them its a place to ask question for fish. And i asked
"Will an angler or Fu manchu get along with a chainlink eel? And what is more active the lion or angler? i have a 55gal."
They said:
"your tank is very small to keep a chainlink."
Well should i trust these bozos?

First off, yer tank is fine. Second, both are pretty inactive, so its hard to tell u which one. Id say the fu manchu cuz it actually moves.

Refer to my other post, since this was doubled up, but the chain eel is probably a lot better in something larger than a 55g. Especially if youre considering putting other aggressives in the tank that will push the bioload.

Whoa, i was just reading a post on these boards that someone was a sfe and a chainlink eel in a 55gal. And those people who replied said those eels are fine in the 55gal.

Like i said in my other post, just my opinion, but I feel a chainlink should be in something larger than a 55g. Some books even state it needs 125+, although I'd say 75-90g is fine depending on water quality and tankmates.
Plenty of people keep chainlinks in 55g tanks, I've kept eels in tanks that are probably too small too. I'm simply saying that the people who answered your question, as you said "[those] bozos", were not just saying that. And yes, the WWM people should be trusted, they are yet another valuable source I have found when facing some complex issues involving aquariums. If you do not agree with their opinion, that is fine, but they had very good reasons to state a 55g is small to keep a chainlink in.
Looking at my friend's chain eel in his 75g shows why you'd probably want a larger tank, it's fully mature and 2.5 feet long.
Just another opinion, take it or leave it, but I'd agree with the "bozos" from WWM.

ok. How long do you think it will take an eel to reach full size?

Depends on the species, conditions, and diet. I mean, think about how long it takes a human to reach full height, depends on different people, different spurts.
My moray reached 12" in under a year, then slowly got to 18" over the next couple, and hasn't grown too much this past year. But I also fed him aggressively when he was younger, probably to the point of overfeeding at times.
I don't know where the above estimate of 15 years is from, I certainly hope it doesn't take my eel another decade to reach full size, or i'll have to upgrade my tank a few more times.
