Should we do this?

We have 2 clowns that have been fighting. We mistakenly bought a sebae anemone way too early. Our tank has been set up for about 2 months. At the LFS today they recommended rearranging the rock a little in the tank and creating a new environment to reduce the fighting between them. We are also considering taking the anemone out of the tank entirely. Should we wait until the anemone is out of the tank to rearrange the rock and what is your opinion on all of this?

Well don't take this the wrong way but the first opinion I have would be to ask beforehand on the site here. Lots of experienced people will give you their knowledge and then you can make an informed decision for yourself.
Two clowns will fight for dominance, clowns are hermaphroditic. They will determine which is male and which is female through this fighting. In most cases the fighting will not last too long and then they will become inseparable. If it were me I would return the anemone for store credit but be aware you will probably only get 1/2 of what you paid as credit. A learning experience for sure. Then you could rearrange the rock a little but I don't think it will stop the fighting.

I agree, but if you are to not return the anemone, I would leave the rocks as they are. Let them squabble, they aren't going to kill each other and realize this isn't inhumane since it occurs in nature as well and is virtually unavoidable. I wish you good luck and have fun spending your store credit.

We definitely aren't going to rearrange the whole tank. We have not been completely satisfied with the far left side of our rock arrangement. It's only about 4 pieces that we might adjust a little. The right hand side and the middle we are happy with and we aren't going to touch it! LOL
The anemone moved today and the clowns are actually hanging out in a cave together.
We usually do ask for advice first, but we went to a different LFS (well, an hour away) to get our fish. They recommended the anemone and we were gullible and took their advice. We learned our lesson. We don't want the anemone to die and most people are saying that it most likely will. Even if we lose money, we would rather someone get it that has a suitable tank. It's too beautiful to just let it die.

LOL...You know my opinion....take the anemone back...what you do with your rock is up to you, but as already said the clowns will fight until the dominant one prevails..(I told you soooooo)

Please do not condone use of alcohol to minors. This is a family site and the adults should act as good role models to the younger people who frequent.

We are taking the anemone back today or either tomorrow. The reason on maybe tomorrow, we have a hour drive to get to the LFS. We were just there yesterday.
