Thanks Bill....but I guess it isn't that serious....I want all sorts of different types of life in my tank. And as nice as that fish looks, I am not going to limit myself THAT much....fewer fish, no inverts...I'll have to pass.
Thanks for the information

Hello-we have a 150gal tank-and we rescued him from one of my lfs--he was in a tiny cubicle for over 2 months-he has adjusted quite well to our tank-we have had him about 6 months now. And yes there are some adjustments to make - he will eat some crustaceans- but does not bother anyone else. In fact my tang who is half his size is still the king of the tank! I do feed well - I have 3 wrasses. Weekly water changes! My bird nose is actually one of the calmest fish in my tank. We have lots of hiding places and rock for him to swim in and out of. But we are limited as far as shrimp-he will eat them! But we really like him. So time to set up another tank???
Here is a picture of him sleeping-he does not bury in the sand at night like my other wrasses.

Thanks! This guy has a story.
He was a resident of my lfs for a year, maybe more. He was in a zoo/shroom sales tank and helped keep it clean. I acclimated him in my regular 5 gal styrafoam cooler and he jumped out of it (a high jump). After a few min, I found him flopping on the carpet. But he recovered quickly and is one of my favorite inhabitants.

WOW! Yes they are pretty hardy fish-I have a similar story about my bird wrasse-when the lfs guy was getting him out of his little cubicle he jumped out too-onto the floor at the store-awful! But hes a strong little fish and did fine! Also his body was a little curved at first from being in that little space with no swimming room for so long-so hes a happy camper now. We love him! Wish we had room for a female-they are beautiful-but we are at our max for fish. :happyfish :happyfish
