My boss did this for his neighborhood light contest. He added this Mr. Christmas Light and Sound kit that turns his lights on and off to music. Here's a link to a video as an example:

I think this is the kit he bought:

The Mr. Christmas Kit does not allow any user input for the synchronization. it is plug and play and costs around $100. We use software and hardware from Light-O-Rama. The same with the video link you provided. I am actually friends with Carson, the creator of the house in the link you provided.
The software we use takes between 60 to 80 hours of computer programming for every song. I am not putting down what your boss did, just explaining the huge difference between systems

I think I would truly HATE to have you as my neighbor
My neighbors actually love the lights. My neighbor on each side has allowed me to take over their front yards. The music is braodcast over an fm transmitter so they don't have to hear it outside.
If you want to see behind the scenes of our house, here is a video clip from TLC's Invasion of the Christmas Lights which aired on Dec 6th. They are going to air it again Christmas night at 10 pm on The learning Channel

awesome ! didnt you enter a contest last year ? if so anything to vote on this year ?

Last year the mods pulled my thread for asking for votes and posting the link. But on the front page of my website there is a link to vote in a contest we are in.
Did anybody see our house on the Early Show. I missed it
