i have a 7 head torch coral, which for the past 6 months, has been healthy. i noticed the other day that one of the heads was barren, no "tentacles" found in or around it. can see down into the skeleton. came home today to find another head shrinking.
water parameters:
sg - 1.026
ph - 7.8
ammo - 0
NO2 - 0
MNO3 - 0
phos - 0
alk - 4.00
ca - 500
my livestock seems to be fine, but the past few weeks, my open brain coral has been testy. some days it will be beautiful, some days its swollen and huge, some days shriveled "dehydrated" looking.
any suggestions?

You know, I had this happen to my 12 head frogspawn. One head was shrivelled then a second one.... Then I went to my local fish store and I bought the coral disinfectant by seachem and I dipped the whole coral in it and I ecentually lost two of the heads but I saved the rest of the coral. Try this before it's too late. DON"T WAIT! I waited and it cost me two heads of the frogspawn! It can be a bacterial infection.

Well, your pH is way too low and your calcium is a bit high. Try doing a water change with a good salt mix and see if that helps.
