Shrooms

I have mushrooms in my tank that has about 6 or 7 watts per gal. I also add mineral suppliments. They still aren't reproducing like crazy though. Can someone explain how i could make them reproduce by cutting them with a razor.

Light is definately not the issue here. When I first added mushrooms to my tank, lit brightly with VHO, well over 10 watts per gallon, they did absolutely nothing.
Then I did some re-arranging and put them in the shade and under an out-cropping ledge. They exploded! And their size now fully extended can be up yo 5-6 inches--EACH!
And I was ready to give up on them..........

lighting doesnt matter. mushrooms need A LOT of time to multiply. its not a sponge, if u cut it, it would probably die. make sure its attached to a rock and stays on it. eventually it should start multiplying. please do not cut it:(

Vibe - do some reading
Casey - Melody is speaking of a thread bang guy started a week ago. Just cut the shroom into four quadrants. If you want them to stay in that area, just cover them with panty hose of something permeable. Or, move them to desired location and cover them. Either way give them a couple of weeks and they should take hold and become a viable shroom! Just did mine.

Hey Casey, I don't believe light is the issue here. I have a friend that is producing Ricordia from one of his tanks and he says he actually does Not have the light on to often. I guess he has minimal light and they been multiplying like crazy. I know, because I've gotten a bunch from him.
