Shy shrimp

I got my first Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp and I think he is the coolest thing to watch, however he is always hiding behind a rock. The only time he makes an appearance is when I feed. Which brings up my main concern, it is rare that he ever gets any food before the fish get it all.
I read that they eat both flake and brine is there anything else I could feed him or is he probably getting enough and I shouldn’t worry?

I had the same worry about feeding my shrimp. I bought some small pellets that sink to the bottom and the shrimp gets to them every time.
It's like watching a kid trying to carry too much if the shrimp gets hold of a few pellets - great entertainment!!!

Thanks col,
I have some pellets that I feed my hermits but they also always get to them before the shrimp although he does try for them.
Is there pellets just for shrimp?

Your shrimp may still be aclimating to his new environment. Mine hid most of the time for the first week or so, then he started coming out into view more and now he's out all the time.
And mine eats anything... I also see him picking debris off the rock to eat as well.

i have a peppermint shrimp that ive had for almost 2 or 3 weeks now, and he still hides ALL the time, he comes about half way out when its feeding time, so i have to make sure food goes his way, or he wont come get it. do they do better in groups of more then one or is this just how they all are?
