Sick BTA...Splitting???

OK, my sick BTA that I have been posting about is still shriveled, it is not dead. BUT I have noticed a hole in its base...do sick anemones split? Or is this another step towards dieing? I looked at Karen;s Rose anemone site, and the pics of her anemone splitting is a healthy one, so I really have no clue.
Any one know?

Is this the first time you got a look at the foot? Could be that it was torn before it was shipped to you and that was the problem all along.

Is it attached, it can't split without being atached. It will spread out it base and literally pull and rip itself in half.

I don't think it was when I got it. As a matter of fact I don't think it was yesterday...I bought that net thing, and I put it in there..it now has plenty of flow...then it seemed to have positioned it on its side (on its own) and that is when I noticed it...Now it is balancing on its side, and I can see thru it (sort of) and maybe 3 tentacles look like they have a little bit of puffiness....I know I was told no food if it wan't puffed...do I still do thatsince it has not puffed up in 2 days?

Not really...it is like it is balancing on its side, it may be trying to attach to the side of the netting...I'm not sure. Can it attach to the netting?

Yes, they can attach to just about anything. It is hard to say since I can't see what it's doing. If foot has a tear it's chances are not good being that it's in such poor shape. You are caring for it the best you can you'll just have to wait and see what happens. It just may be breaking down, that would be my best guess.

Thanks for all your help...one more thing though...Do I try to feed it even if it is shriveled? I have not fed it since it has not opened.

I can't and won't eat when it is not fully expanded.
You hang in there, I know this is not easy, wish I could be more help.
