Two days ago I notice my puffer eyes very cloudy and he puffs
up a lot lately, he looks as if he is blind.......please advise for treatment to use....
I have a 10 gal quartine tank up and running, so last night i put the puffer in there. The sanlity is 1.020 and ph is 8.0. Base on the
hyposanlity treatment over 48 hours i should drop the sanlity to
1.009 and balance the ph by adding ph buffer. My 2nd question is do i add any forms of medication to the quartine tank? or just continue to do small w/c until sanlity gets to 1.009....

take it slow in the hypo. drop salinity over a period of a week or so not a night. let us know how it goes.

you really don't want to go any lower than 1.012. also get use to your puffer getting sick. i had one and had to get rid of it. it wouldn't stop getting sick...i'd medicate he'd get better i'd leave it for about 2 weeks then all of a sudden bam sick again. this was how it went for like 6 months.

ok I have seen this many of times with my old sspuffer.your ph is tooo low it needs to be 8.2 8.4 the first being the better.hes puffing because he is stressing this isnt a case for hyposalinaty.if you amoinia is high or nitrates he will also get the cloudy eyes raise your ph and salinaty .try some melafix in your tank to help reduce his stress if he is not eating I would QT him as soon as you can moving him could cause more stress unfortunatly.your puffers first sign of anything wrong in your tank will be his cloudy eyes.if he keeps puffing try burping him a bit raise his head upward and carefully massage the bubbles up to release the trapped air.this was something I didnt know until it was too late for mine.I went through this very same thing for 2 yrs streight.hyposalnaty only works for ich.

just realized you already had him in qt .keep a close eye on your nitrates and amonias while in qt they do tend to excell very rapidly in a small tank.
