What are your water parameters like?
Whats the condition of your other fish?
Is he eating?
How big of a tank?

Whens the last time you made an addition?
Does sound like he's sick and possibly a bacterial infection depending on the size of the spots but I don't think clowns are as susceptible to ich as other fish.
Sorry but if its bacterial I don't really know how to help you but maybe someone else will chime in with experience on that.

Careful on getting bad advice on the salesperson trying to make a sale or thinking something off the shelf will magically fix your problem.... may only give you more of a headache.

Do you have a quarantin tank? If so, take out all your fish and start copper treatment. Copper is the best cure for ich but be very carefull...it is extremely toxic for invertebrates and you need to dose it very carefully to fish also...high copper concentration could be deadly.
You better go and check out Beth's thread in the section fish diseases.
Good luck! It worked for me...

I had an ocellaris clown that developed ich about 2 days after I added him a few years ago. Have not seen it i any clowns since. anyway seperate him into a quarantine tank if you have one and use Kick Ich as per the directions. DO NOT use any ich treatment in your community tank as it is very toxic to your inverts. If anyone knows a better ich treatment than kick ich please chime in!

The white on the fish is starting to go away and the guy at the store told us that if it has a good ammune system that it would live so i will wait and see what happens

Good the fish immune system is kicking in but if it Ich it is now in your DT if you did not quarantine the fish... I know what I'm talking about as I'm currently dealing with the problem

Sorry to tell you this but ich does go away for one day and then the day after comes back worse than ever.
I really think you need to treat all the fish.
I also tried Kick ich but didn't work...as I told you the best and more resolutive treatment is copper.
Good luck!

Hyposalinity works very well too, did you try?
From your experience, how does it compare to copper?

I tried hipo for a very short time but it didn't work for me...but I heard someone can control ich just with hipo.
I don't know...I prefer to be sure.

Okay, so I'll try hypo as I started the process and if it doesn't work I'll know there are other options that works. Thanks!

Luckily, I have not had to deal with Ich since my clown episode a few years back. For future reference, could you give me a brand I could ask for? Sorry guys, for using this thread to ask my own question, but I am always in need of good advise from more experienced folks!

In my opinion the best si Seachem Cupramine and follow the instruction about concentration. You also need to get a very sensitive copper test because you don't want to exceed the safe concentration.
But anyway, as I said, there is a whole thread about different treatments for ich in the "Fish disease and treatment" section. Beth did a very good job!
I am not an expert...I was just unlucky my fish got ich and I had to go through all this
