OK Doc, I am a concern eel person, what is happening? I am hoping for the best for the young eel

Why you been bitten so many times by eels? I (knock on wood) had not once been bit by any eel, even when years ago I went diving.

Doc, if the eel survived the procedure and being that the eel is in bad shape, get only after you get the fish out or if you force it down to its stomach, to get maracyl. For which if I felt the injury be minor, then would had suggested Epson Salt.

I am sorry MILE for that lost
but here it is something other in which is even worst for I have to believe that Doc friend feed his eel the fish dorsal fins are cutting up the eel inside an if it lives, infection can set in if it hasn`t already done so.

DME do products such as mealfix and pimafix work with eels or is there something else that would work better to help an injured eel?

I not see the need to use melafix within morays for as well for most open wounds a moray has healing powers of its own but it never hurts to give a little protections against infection, for that is more use for fish. And the pimafix is something as near to the maracyl for I would the maracyl then those two.

sorry guys it has taken so long for me to return this post i have been extremely busy, here let me update everyone.....the moraydid not have a pin fish stuck in him. when i went back the next day to do the procedeure there was no lump and when i held open his mouth no fish in his throat.......so at that point i realized i had again no clue what his malady was....so i quarentined him and put epsom salt in the tank. i have video footage of the moray and it is very clear..if some one can tell me how to post a video on this sight or place i can post the video. i will do that so evreyone can see the eel and what his present condition is. well i am out of here...ill try to get the video on tonight but if not tommrow morning...sorry for takin so long

That is good but also tells me know that one other is correct, for the fish spines did cause it heavy internal injuries and I have to believe that has caused swollen problem in which as well would give the eel problems in breathing.
It is difficult in trying to reach what is the eels problem for I even ask you if you like if I can call you while you where this eel is. Being now that it is a sure thing that this pinfish caused the eel much injuries, I suggest you get the maracyn-two as well for the epson salt do helps, but to where I am concern is this eel is in the worst of shape, Also do make sure it is the one for saltwater and not freshwater.
I am sorry that i type the name wrong at first
for if the eel lived i wanted that you get this as soon as possible and what would help me better is if I was down there where you folks live.
Now there aren`t anyfish in with this eel and do keep as high water quailty your friend can and also leave the lights off and raise the temp too 84 F. And one other thing, your friend has pumps inside this tank? Not make the currents too strong.
