Sick puffer!

Beth, he just told me in another thread that he used coppersafe in the tank. That could have definitely hurt the puffer, don't you think? Being scaleless, puffers are extremely sensitive to copper. The only thing that I thought helped him was that it was coppersafe, and not cupramine.

Hey got anouther question about this puffer. The Marine fishes book said to feed it 3 times a day. Isnt that excessive?? Hes really not that big. Probably 3 to 4 inches. Will it eat mysis too?? Somebody said they are high in protien so i bough some. thanks again

That book tells you to feed all of your fish 3 times per day. I would not go by that guideline, as that is how most people pollute their tank. However, if you take one day's feeding and break it into 3 portions, that would be great. Just do not increase HOW MUCH you feed.
Puffers would love mysis, prawn, krill, clam, mussel, squid, scallop, seaweed, kelp, etc. Pick up a variety of at least 4 different foods.

It will help, but it will not do it totally. Get as much as you can afford. Poly filters, chemi-pure plus, cuprisorb (by SeaChem) all do an excellent job.

What are you using water conditioner for?
Chemi-pure and cuprisorb are resins. They do not get added to the water, but to the filter.

You may want to switch to RO water as well. That will help him recover much faster because it is not polluted, like tap water often times is.

Yes, usually it comes out of a faucet. It is not sold in jugs, so you need to bring your own buckets. You can get buckets at Home Depot or at a home store for a few bucks.
