sick purple tang

I have this purple tang that ive had for about 2 months now.. It eats really good and is currently in hypo at 1.009 and is showing signs that look like ich but is not ich.. The fish has been in hypo for those two months and none of the spots that look like ich have fell off of the fish. What other diseases are there that look like ich?
Should i slowly raise the tank back up and put some cleaner shrimp and etc in tank or what?

seems like lympho.it will usually go away but not always.the low salinity for 2 months might be stressing him out so the lympho wont go away.i would raise the salt over the next week and add some paragaurd.it will help fight off the lympho.

Can you post a picture of this? Or take a look at the pictures of fish with lymphocyctis in the Diseased Fish Topic, top of this forum.

It could be lympho.. I would like for you guys to see some pics though.. Im not sure how to post them on the site though and also not sure if i have enough posts.. Could one of you contact me via pm and give me your email address? If so i can get you some pics.. Im just glad the purple tang is still eating..

The disease has progressed a little more and im going to say its lympho now.. Good thing is fish is still eating. im starting to raise the tank a little as we speak.. As soon as i get tank raised ill get a few cleaner shrimp to put in there.. hopefully the purple tang will use them to help..

shrimp are good for everyday maintanance but not to be doctors and totally clean up.i would get him in a tank and either do 1 hour baths or just put paragaurd in the qt.personally i have been using paragaurd for all new fish in qt.it will help rid fish of fungal and bacteria inside and out.
