My sailfin tang is sick. It had white spots, so I thought it was ick and i removed it from the main aquarium for qt and after treating the blotches have turned black. What is wrong with the sailfin, and is there anything else I can do to get rid of this sickness.
I have lost a Kole tang, butterfly, and a maroon clown from this same thing already when the butterfly died the fins looked rotted and ragged, and its eyes were cloudy. There was also thin white strand coming from its body. The Kole died with only white dots no other symptoms. The clown had so many white spots it almost looked like a layer of whitish dust.
There has been nothing added to the tank in approx 3 weeks, and before any fish go into the tank they go into the qt tank... what could have caused this outbreak? the parameters are fine so that eliminates stress due to poor water quality. There also was no conflict in the tank.
What is wrong and how can I fix it before I lose more of my fish?
