3 islands will look good man I'll tellin ya.. and then you can have a bunch of different spots to put corals... lets face it, rock all along the back wall is boring and inefficient use of space.
P.S. I'll always remember the walmart 55, that was hilarious.. you're definitely making a good comeback though.
got taht right ...my brother has that and now hes going to change it cus he sap pictures up ...
he has a tank that been up for about since august i think but since he bought my tank hes gonna start over ..maybe use all of his stuff even water
but yeah thanx for the ideas ..hope all goes well keep in contact with this thread to see what i come up with k ...

i really dont know much about corals never had them i have 2 trumpets i got for 99c each they where dying and the lfs said to take em
so i took em
other than that ima do alot of reserch before i get some corals
in ur opinion what corals are good starters?..what about anemones? say for my 2 clown fish?
I don't like anenomes personally because they can do the following:
move around and kill your other corals, move around and get into powerheads and get killed thus nuking the tank, and eat your other fish.
LOL
For starter corals: zoas, palys, ricordea floridas.. those are all good. Definitely wait on adding corals right now though till you figure out what all you want to do because it's important in your choice of lighting.

You've been following that turf scrubber thread right? My pH stays rock solid on my 15gallon with one on a turf scrubber light 18 hours on/6 hours off with the 6 hours off being in the middle of my display tank metal halide on period.

I run my scrubber off the drain, but I dunno if thats substantially less effective that running one with a pump in the sump that turns on and off every minute to simulate tide surging. Another pump in my tank would have jacked up heat so thats why I ran mine off the drain.

When running a durso, the water level will be pretty high.
This tank is gonna look good, I dunno why I'm so excited.. maybe because it gives me inspiration to set up my 144half circle LOL...

Yeah I'd work on getting the tank stable and going then decide what kind of corals you want then upgrade the light. Also look into getting 2 dosing pumps and an auto topoff..
the dosing pumps should be hooked up 2 part in jugs (look up randy's 2 part new formula) and you'll be able to keep the CA, ALK, MAG, pH REALLY stable in the tank and keep any corals that your future light choice will support. Also, running the tank between 80-82F will speed up metabolism of everything so food&waste get processed quicker and corals grow faster.. with a scrubber, overflow, and powerheads oxygenation of the water will remain high regardless of the temp and without a skimmer.

Looks good.. I'd double the amount of rock (or maybe even just 50% more) personally to fill the tank out more.. how much rock by weight is that supposed to be in your tank?
You've definitely got some good pieces in there with lots of porous surfaces. Like I said before, the tank is very promising. The sand looks good too. If you can turn that heater horizontally, it'll work more efficiently.
P.s. with more rock, you could probably just skip the skimmer IMO. Definitely add a turf scrubber though.

another thing is that the bottom glass is about 1/2" thick ....so i know in my op it can handle weight
