silicone for baffels

Can anyone tell me if there is special silicone I should use for the baffels I want to silcone into my glass 20 gal tank I am going to use for my sump. I want to make sure it will hold up being underwater and will not release anything into the water as well. Thanks

A friend of mine that works for the Department of Natural Resources has to build tanks occasionally to house specimans (freshwater) that they are observing. He uses G.E. Silicone caulking 1. The number 2 has too many mildewcides and it says on the tube not for use in aquariums. If you are not sure you can call GE. HTH

I have built 2 sumps using GE 1. Make sure you use a good amount and allow 24 hrs drying time in between "coats". When it's all done make sure you let it sit no less than 48 hrs to make sure it is fully cured.
