was thinking about building my own sump, went to see if hd had the food safe silicone, but the only one i found close was the kitchen&bath one, is this the same??
and how many inches is it to be considered a dsb??

Any of the clear silicones would work...make sure it is fully cured prior to introducing water...actually...any color silicone should work.
A deep sandbed should be between 4-6 inches...there are many different opinions about this.
