silicone sealent

ok, my dad bought silicone sealent (kitchen and bath) to use to make my refugium. will that be bad for the water? will it

anything up or be dangerous? there is a shrimp, clown, and soon to be ((hopefully) a kenya tree. will this be dangerous to any of that to use to seal the plastic walls in the refugium tank?

were not 100% sure right now. all i need to know is if the silicon sealent is safe to use.

I did some reading on this. As long as it is 100% pure silicon it should not be a problem no other additives. Or you can order some RTV desinged for auariums on the net if you do not feel sure about what you have.

nope kitchen and bath has an anti mold cehimical in it you need GE silicon I clear

Right, silicone sealant that is aquarium safe will say so on the label--many say NOT for aquarium use. You can get aquarium safe at Wal_Mart---a few bucks for a caulking gun size tube. Don't get the little tiny tubes in the pet dept, same stuff 10 times the price.
