Silicone won't bind to acrylic well. I would suggest you use weldon #3. With silicone, the baffles may fall off within a few months.

Just make sure that it isn't the type that is mold resistant. Get 100% silicone. GE silicones are mostly all Bio something. Not safe for aquariums.

I have built two sumps and resealed three aquariums with GE clear silicone type I for windows and I have never had any issues. In fact on my last sump rebuild which was about a month or so ago the only place I have algae is on the silicone so I don't think it is leaching any anti mold or fungus chemicals to the water. Also I have used acrylic panels in glass tanks for both sumps and in my last rebuild of my own sump and I haven't had any issues with it coming loose but I use a fairly heavy bead on both sides of each panel so that it acts like a wedge.

Lowes and Home depot both carry aquarium safe silicone - conveniently located about 3 feet from the regular caulking (at least in the stores I have been to in Denver) - thats what I have used in my sumps, as long as the acrylic isn't so thin that it bows from th water pushing against it (a problem with my 1st attempt at putting baffles in a sump) then I haven't had any problems

scuff the acrylic baffles along the edges where the silicone will go with sandpaper.. this will make the silicone adhere better to it and hold them in place for pretty much a lifetime, if done good..

No problem, I have just seen lots of post on here lately telling people that all GE silicone is not safe. If you pay attention to what you are buying and make sure you let it cure 100% before you put water in it you shouldn't have a problem.

i recently called a company called "Dap" who makes many types of adhesives and caulk, and they sell to home depot and lowes, about their "100% silicone sealant", which i just purchased to glue in my baffles on a 40 breeder i picked up.
the product said nothing about mold and mildew, and listed no ingredients besides 100% silicone.
the rep told me on the phone that there is anti-mold chemicals in it, and that they don't have to list all the chemicals that are in it.
he also told me that they do sell aquarium sealant, but it's not good for tanks larger than 30 gallons because it's not strong enough to handle the pressure.
i ended up with aquarium sealant by "perfecto".
