Can you use silicon (aquaium safe) to put acrylic baffles in a glass tank? Is there something else I should use instead? Do I have to use glass baffles?
Thanks, Jeff

i tried acril bafs but they would not stick to the silicone to the glass. i went and had glass cut to fit for the bafs. In fact i'm doing it right now, letting the sil cure a little before i move on to the next baf. So get lucky using acril baf with glass tank, i never really heard an over whelming respons with acril and glass, just glass on glass and acril to acril

Just make sure that it is 100% silicon, with no additives for anti mold or mildew, so nothing that says bathroom on it.

if you cut the pieces very precise to fit tight then silicone thewm they should hold u pretty good, but as stated its better to use glass on glass or acrylic to acrylic

I used acrylic baffles with a glass tank. I simply put a heavy bead of silicone on each side of the baffle. It has kept the baffles in place for over 2 years with no signs of stress. I also scoured about 1/2" of the acrylic edges with rough sandpaper to help adherance.

i never heard of that...... i used plexiglass on glass and it works good. I used silicon that said for aquarium use on it so i just trusted it.
