Silly Question

Okay, I noticed someone had posted a thread about star fish and it got me wondering. I would love to get cc but of course, theyre not reef safe. My question is, how much damage can they do? And what exactly will they go after for food?

Im pretty sure that many corals, and various other "good" things are on a cc's menu when it comes to food. They will eat just about anything they can get, snails, clams, other stars.....Maybe Ophiura well stop by to make sure...but i think that is the main reason.

I was thinking about adding a refugium. How much room do they need? Think one would do okay in there?

i think it depends on what type of star fish... what kind are you interested in?

Well, i like the Chocolate Chips and the Red Generals.

they will eat anything and everything they can catch.
a refuge isnt a good place for one but the sump would be a good place. it will eat anything that makes its way to the sump but not being a predator in the fuge but then the ods go throught he sump to get back to the tank but i dont hink it will be that big of a deal in there.

I've had one in my refugium for about 5 months now. I bought him not reading anything about them and came home from work noticing him on my xenia, got pissed and threw him in the refugium. He's been in there ever since. He seems to be doing fine.
