First off, let me say that I have the worst luck in the world. I know this is a long post, but please take the time to read it and comment.
In the past year, all of this has happened:
1) Wrecked my car after a 4 hour drive...when I was 2 minutes away from my home.
2) Was diagnosed with narcolepsy which explains the wreck
3) Was walking back to my car from inside a gas station when someone jumped in the car with me and forced me to drive him around (after this, I got my concealed handgun permit to carry a gun)
4) Girlfriend of 6 years cheated on me. I took her back. She then cheated again. With the same guy. She's long gone now.
5) Dislocated my shoulder...by getting out of bed and pushing up with my arm. This was the first time it happened. It has happened 8 times since. One night, it popped out 3 times within 2 hours
6) I walked to my car at 4:30 AM to find something. Due to the area I live in, I took my gun with me. When I sat down in the drivers seat, I fell asleep due to the narcolepsy and dropped the holstered handgun onto the passenger seat. Next thing I know, my passenger side window gets busted out and a gun is stuck in my face. The cop did not identify himself, so I thought I was being robbed. I got out of the car and got on the ground like I was told. The gun stayed on the passenger seat. The cop then tased me in the back for no reason. Apparently, even though I have a concealed carry permit, it is illegal to have it out in the open. The cop lied and said that I tried to fight him and thats why he tased me. He says that I started to run towards him and he pushed me to the ground. Let me ask you this. If you thought you were being robbed by someone at gunpoint, would you run TOWARDS that person and try to fight them? I have PTSD from the incident and I can't even watch TV shows with guns in them any more, because I thought he had shot me when he tased me.
7) The taser caused a condition known as rhabdomyolysis, which means your muscle tissue starts to break down and clogs your kidneys up. I basically have kidney damage now. I called an ambulance to take me to the hospital because I felt HORRIBLE. The paramedic told me that he was going to tase me again if I tried anything and then he threatened to tie my hands behind my head if I didn't stop moving around. The ER doctor said that my body was going into shock and that's why I couldn't keep still. The paramedic told the ER that I "must have taken meth or something". When I call 911 for help, why do I get treated like this?
8) I requested to be taken to the ER at the jail, but they refused. The cop was a hypocrite, as he went to the ER where he was treated for a minor cut on his hand that didn't require stitches or anything. Yet, my kidneys are starting to fail and I'm denied medical attention.
9) Due to the rhabdomyolysis, they gave me anxiety and pain medication. The pain medication made me not be able to urinate and I had to be catheterized...and it stayed in for a week
10) Catheter gets me a bladder infection
11) Just paid a lawyer $7500 to try to get me off of what I was charged with (being a grad student, I don't have that type of cash lying around)
12) Finally meet a decent girl...or so it seems. We take a beach trip. Once we get there, everything was fine until the day before we left. She got drunk out of her mind and started acting insane, yelling, screaming, running around outside and knocking on other people's room doors. I tried for 3 hours to get her to come back to the room and go to sleep. She hit me in the head 4 times during this process. Finally, I had to call the police because I didn't want her to hurt herself, seeing how drunk she was. She told the cops that I pushed her down the stairs. Since I was sober and she had obvious concrete scrape marks and mud all over her legs, the cop believed me. I had to go bail her out the next morning.
13) I buy a $650 black tang with a 10 day guarantee. It dies on day 11.
14) Barely ran off the road about 2 weeks ago into some mud, lost control, and totaled another car
There's even more than just this. I'll post more later...
If karma exists, what in the world did I do to deserve all this?
EDIT: oh, and since the sheriff's office reported the gun incident to my university, I was fired from my job. It was a graduate assistantship that reduced my tuition from $10k a semester to $1k a semester. The job also paid $20k a year for 20 hours a week. The University also imposed "sanctions" on me including requiring me to keep a certain GPA because of the gun incident. So much for innocent until proven guilty.
EDIT AGAIN: after recent car wreck, I needed stitches in wrist. They told me to get them taken out after 7-10 days. I do so, and the wound opens back up again. Sigh. I also partially severed a nerve in the cut because part of my hand is still numb.
