singapore angel

I purchased a Singapore Angel a week ago. It hides behing the rock all day long. I am wondering if it will soon start being a bit more social as it becomes more accustomed to its new home or is this just its personality? When no one is near the tank it will swim out for a second or two then as soon as it sees you watching or someone walks in the room it hides back behind the rock again. Also would a bi color be ok to put with the singapore? Thanks.

It sound like your angle is getting use to it's new home some fish take longer to adjust than others. I love angles, I'm not ready for one yet your water has to be perfect for them beauties.
How long have your tank been up and running?
You should be able to mix angles. Check some other posts to make sure I haven't read anything about not mixing the two.

Hate to say it but I had a Singapore Angel in my reef tank and the onlt time I saw it was when I fed, otherwise it stayed in the rocks pretty much. They do not get very large and they tend to be a shy fish but given time and depending on its tankmates it may start to come out more in time.

Thanks for all input! I have had my tank up for about 6 mos. It cycled quickly and the levels have been perfect since the third week. I have two percula clowns, one damsel and about 15-20 lbs LR. I have read and been told a 55 was big enough for a dwarf angel but I am setting up a 200 gallon so if I need to it can be put in there eventually.

I have had a Singapore Angel for about 6 weeks now and he hid in the rocks up until this weekend when I change the CC for sand, put in 2 submersible heaters and changed 20 gallons of water in the 90 gallon. Now, he's out swimming around and eating stuff he finds on the rocks along with algae tablets I toss in for him since there's not that much on the rock. He also will eat the frozen brine shrimp.
He gets along great with the clownfish and seems to ignore them mostly. But I was very discouraged at first spending $30 for a fish that no one ever saw.

Some online suppliers tell you that if you order a singapore and another dwarf at the same time they will not fill your order until they know that the 2 will not be in the same tank. They will not tollerate another angel in the same tank. I have had a singapore for about a week and a half. She is just starting to stay out more and is becoming less scared, but I am having trouble getting her to eat.
