we refill our gallons at wal-mart.
I have a Wal-Mart also and dont believe I have seen a refill "station" there. Where is yours located in the store?
Also is it a super Wal-Mart, cuz 1 just opened about 10 minutes from me and havent been to that one yet. The other I go to is not a super Wal-Mart. Is it RO/DI water you are getting? Thanks alot :)

Sorry Sinner's Girl, you took to long. I'll make it up to you later.
Most Super Wal-Marts have a Culligan water machine in the back on the food side. It's not always in the same place, but I'm sure an associate could direct you to it if they have one. It's RO and UV sanitized and it's .33c a gal. It's not as pure as RO/DI, but you can't beat the price.

thanks you 2.
Dan, I asked you earlier about the water at Wal- Mart. Is that what you get, the water out of the machine? I was under the impression that you had bought already bottled water. If you do get the bottled water, have you tried the water out of the machine, and in your opinion which was better? (I know you test so thats why I'm asking) Thanks you've been a great help to me ;)

I buy the bottled distilled for the top off and some water changes on the reef tanks, it's purer than the Culligan water and use the Culligan refill water for the FW tanks(top off & water changes) and for some reef water changes(the big reef tank). The water around here is loaded with PO4 & NO3 and the culligan machine will only do so much for it. If you live somewhere were the water is better to start with, it would be better suited for a reef tank.

I just went the easy route and bought my own RO unit. With over 450 gallons of saltwater tanks in my house, I kind of had to unless I wanted to buy stock in a water company! (It figured out to be around the same as filling the 200 gallon twice. Water went up to 50 cents a gallon and I just said "That's it. Screw you guys, I'm getting my own machine.") It's a lot cheaper, the water tastes good, and if you wanted to be a bugger, you could charge your friends to get their water from you. It's better than any machine water I've ever had. I guess it just depends on how much of a saltwater freak you really are lol I also buy salt by the 5gal buckets.

Its just that I cant afford a RO/DI unit at this time, I know buying the water in the long run is more the buying the unit. But at this point and time I can not shell out the money in one lump sum, and it doesnt seem like too much to spend monthly by buying gallon jugs. This time next year ---you bet I have my own RO/DI unit. ;)

Dan, AGAIN thank you. I can top of my FW with what I got with no problems, thanks for the clarification.

sorry guys!!!
I guess I haven't been here much....nice to know i'm missed!
NaCl-H2O is right though. At one wal-mart it's right by the door, at another it's by the bathrooms.
It's better than tap...and cheap. never had a problem with our water!
Nice to know someone will step up when i'm lacking....
