Sixline nips sometimes?

I noticed today my sixline nips. I JUST GOT ARID OF MY CORAL BEAUTY FOR THE SAME THING. Is there any reason why it would be doing this? Is there ANY fish out there that is 100% reef-safe, other than a clownfish, for a 24 gallon?

no blenny including lawnmowers are 100% reef safe.
God must be playing jokes on you. I know the sixlines pick alot in general but if it is actually picking at your corals like a dwarf angel thats just wrong

I consider myself done with non coral safe fish. hopefully my sixline doesn't get crazy like yours.

I dont understand what the deal is. Usually he picks are random poo on the rocks or food that lands, but he went from my duncan, to gsp, to acans, then into the rocks. My jaw hit the floor. Theres basically no way to get him out of there.
What fish are 100% reef safe? Im thinking of getting like 3 blue chromis and just letting them live.

I honestly think thats his intentions, except when he hits the duncan lol. He usually goes near the stalks of zoas to nip, so pods on those Im pretty sure

I don't know what you mean by "nips'. All the fish I've ever seen are always picking at something; maybe pods, bits of algae, buts of leftover food. The tangs & anthias in my new reef do this 24/7 without hurting anything. No damage, no worry.

Nipping meaning like swims between the rocks, stops and looks at the rocks and such, and then will take a bite at something, and swim away. He hasnt done it since. I bought 3 small blue chromis today, and I love the activity they bring. The sixline is flashing his fins at them and I hope he gets a little put-into-his-place now.

Sounds perfectly normal to me; unless he's taking bites of coral , which would be very unusual for a sixline.

I've owned very few fish that NEVER nipped at corals. My blenny used to nip at xenias, toadstool and clams. I'd say the only 2 fish that never EVER nipped at any corals are the two maroon clowns and the foxface.

Mm ok. Nothing is showing bad signs from it either. Not even the teeny tiny purple deaths or nuclear greens.

My maroon was a really awesome fish that never did nip at anything. Hosted my GSP too. He just got a bit aggressive to add any new fish.

I know what you mean. I have a pair of maroon clowns and a fuzzy dwarf lion in a 48gal and I can't add any new fish to that tank. NOTHING! The female maroon will go after anything I put in. So it's a 3 fish tank, forever.

Yeah, these are no pansies. But, I think maroons are more territorial than aggressive. If you QT a new fish, try taking the maroon (both, if a pair) out & into the QT for a week or so when you put the new fish in the DT. Rearrange the rockwork, especially the area she hangs around most. In most cases, they'll be OK if they're the last fish.

Yea, before I added the maroon and the CBA 1 day apart so there was really no territory differences between the two.
