Size of Blue Tang?

Would like to know how big a blue tang "Dory" will get. One place said 1 inch and another said 1 foot. That's a big differance! Am still in the planning stages and have done tons of reading the last several months. Want to make sure of what I get before I get it.

They get 12 inchs, and fast.

yeah dont put one in a 10 gal tank. bigger at least a 65 gal for one, now its not gonna get 12 in in a month by any means. it will take awhile for it to get that big.

Mine grew from 1.5 in to 6 in 3 years.

requires a 6ft tank idealy 125 gallons minimum IMO

I sounds like I'll have to do without this lovely fish or get a much larger tank than what I planed(60g). Exactly what is considered 'fast' in growth and how long will it tack blue tanks to reach there full size?

There is a Regal Tang at one of the LFS's here that is almost the circumference of a volleyball!
