size pump?

I know people ask this all the time but I don't know which to get.
I have a new 58gal RR, I do not know what the overflow on a RR is rated it doesn't say, but it is a 1" drain. I am running it to a 29 gal homemade sump which will house my skimmer, heater a refugium and then pump back up to the tank. My biggest question is that I know the flow in the refugium is supose to be slow so I cannot decide between a mag7 and a mag 9.

On my Oceanic 58 I originally ran a MAG 7 as my return which was fine until I added my chiller and plumbed the return line through the chiller at which time I needed to upgrade to the Mag 9.

get a mag 9 the over flow will handle it with no problem
run a T and then a ball valve over to your refugium then u can control the flow to that independantly of your tank to sump

I would go with the 9 as prev mentioned. You could always throttle it back some with a ball valve if its too much. Better then too little! I am running a mag9.5 for my main return on my 120 but it only has a 700/gph overflow, dont know what the RR could handle. I do have to throttle my 9.5 back slightly though. As long as your overflow will handle it you will have great turnover though!

Thanks everyone, I have my plans set up and I will be doing a dual overflow, so I am definitely going with the mag 9.5
