skimmer advice

I'll probably get flamed for not finding this on a previous thread, but what are opinions of Aqua-C ev, or ASM skimmers? I'm looking for a good skimmer to put in sump for my 75g.
I'd like to be able to set it and not have to worry about water levels or adjusting it constantly.

Well, if those are the only ones your looking at, then its hands down the ASM. But, you didn't look at the CoraLife Super SKimmer. You might want to look at that one before you spend a small fortune on the ASM.

The LFS told me the Aqua c EV 120 or 180 would out-perform the coralife by a ton. He sells both,so I don't know if he has a bigger mark-up on the Aqua-c or if he truly believes it's better.

The EV would not outperform the Super Skimmer 220, which I would recommend to anyone. They work just the same as the ASMG and the EuroReef. THey just use different materials to make them. Thats the only difference.

I agree with your LFS guy. I do dislike Aqua C pump selection that is why they get a bad rep or people think they are a poor skimmer.
I put a Eheim 1260 pump on my EV-120 and wow. It will stay up with a Deltec or H&S skimmer. Pulls out more then an ASM bigtime. The pump is a little expensive but WELL worth it.
