I am starting up a 100 gal with a dsb and about 100 lbs of lr with about 50lbs of ls. I am going to use a trickle filter. What type/brand of skimmer should I go with?

I hear the berlin turbo's are good. I don't have one, but I've read here that it is a good skimmer.

I love Awua Medic skimmers. It is a German brand and is the cutting edge when it comes to filtration. Actually they have won more filtration awards internationally then all other filtration companies combined. The berlin turbo skimmers are also as suggested an excellent skimmer though they are most definatly second in my book.
I would also look into purchasing a complete system rather than individual components one by one. Buying a system saves you in plumbing costs, effecincy of all pieces are considered when making the complete system rather than mixing many companies products together. A system also saves you money in the long run because all components are discounted to add value to the system. As well as all components are covered under the same warranty.
I also believe that a trickle system is an excellent choice for the new aquarist rather than refugiums, and other means of fitlration. However all of these filtration systems work with there own pros and cons. That of a trickle system is cost. Though simplicitty, and asthetics counters that completely in my mind.
Congrats on your new system.
