skimmer for 160 gal reef

which skimmer would be better for 160 gal reef with a 65 gal fuge and sump?ASM g-4x or a euroreef rs 180 or any other suggestions. thanks

Both are excellent skimmers......They are built off the same principle and work equally.....Really depends if you want to spend the extra cash on the EuroReef for the fancy acrylic......Uses the same pumps.....You might want to take a look at the Octopus skimmers as well.

I agree in that they perform about the same. The Euroreef's are built a ltitle better with higher quality acrylic, but I use an ASM and love it.

hi again, I looked at the pci-rps 2000 rated at 185 gal, also the 3000 rated at 400 gal. are these skimmers in or out of sump? or does it matter? If I go with the 3000, recommended pump of 1-1/2 times volume of systym -140 tank, 65 fuge, 35 sump. total 240 gal.{if it is out of sump I can cut back on that or add to fuge].so thats 360 gph pump needed? in comparison to the ASM G4X -I notice it uses a sedra 9000, [900 gph]. so I am a little confused. what pump would you recomed with the pci-3000?. it does seem like the pci might be a better choice than the ASM G4X? what do you think? thank you.
