skimmer noobie

So I'm looking for a great skimmer for my 125g, large bioload. I've read about skimmers and it seems like octopus or Eshop are best bang for the bucks.
Question 1- What types of skimmers are there? Are their only two types - insump and HOB? Or is there another one called external that sits below the tank without a sump?

How much are you looking to spend?
I just got the Hurricone Cat2E...it's external....and it's an excellent skimmer...can get it for about $600 right now
They also have a Super Reef Octopus XP2000 that's external for about $560
They also have a newer HOB Super Reef Octopus LX2000s...rated up to 150G's for under $400

Agree with Meowzer.... Hard ro compare the Eshops to the Octopus.....
