skimmer on a 10?

Is putting a small skimmer, like a Jebo 180, on a 10 gallon tank recommended against?
I'm getting the impression that skimmers are best put on fuges and whatnot. All I have is a lone standing 10gallon. Will this:
be too loud out in the open?
create turbulence in the water?
take up too much room in the tank itself?
look obtrusive against a white wall?

Some people use them, others don't. I have a 10 gallon with a millenium 1000 HOB filter and 2 PH's..... they get the job done for me. :D

well, for anyone that is in a similar position as I am...
DON'T GET A Jebo 180 SKIMMER FOR A 10, if you don't have a sump or fuge or something.
The Jebo 180 I got is not even conceivably fitting for the tank. The power head alone is about 5.5 inches by 5.5 inches. Ricockulous.
Bigger than most of the live rock in my tank.
Anyway, I'm gonna hold onto the Jebo 180 until I upgrade tanks, but in the meantime, if anyone wants a brand new one that has been submersed once, but never used, give me a holler on this post.

by the way, I bought the skimmer for 39.99 + 7 shipping.
I'll sell the thing for 35.00 if anyone's interested. (keep in mind that the thing is brand new)
I'm located in Chicago if that matters.
