I am setting up a closed loop on a new 36 bow front, and I would like a few ideas about what to do with a skimmer. should I go HOB, or overflow/sump for that sorta stuff. Just looking for a few fresh ideas. or even just your opnion here. show me some pics if possible. Thanks!

Get a sump and get an ASM skimmer or a Euro-reef skimmer (ASM skimmers are made by the second half of euro-reef, so they both are great skimmer, but ASM skimemrs are made out of clear PVC instead of acrylic, so you save hundreads of $$ for the same thing!)
ASM and euros are the best you can get!

I agree with Eff on choice of skimmers. BUT, a closed loop system will eliminate water sounds. Putting in a sump opens up the way for rushing water to plague you. I'd go hang on with such a small tank. Being a closed loop, I am left to assume it's an SPS dominated tank with many returns? Personally I don't use Hang Ons though. Too much love for the extra water volume and space of the Sump. My 2cts.

Hang on, maybe I wasn't thinking correct. with a tank that size stuffed with LR and a VERY low bio load, I probably wouldn't even need a skimmer would I?

I use an HOB skimmer on my 30 gallon reef. I have the CPR Bak Pak 2, but I think the AquaC Remora would be a good choice for HOB skimmers.
I think that no matter how small the bioload, you really ought to have a skimmer on a reef. It will eliminate even trace amounts of garbage your corals don't need.
