I have a JEBO 180 Protein Skimmer (its a venturi type skimmer (Power head takes in air to Skimmer).HOB skimmers are new to me.. But I have yet to build a sump. ATM its just not feesable.. anyway.. I have been having 2 problems.. 1: Not enough air into intake cuasing the collection cup to fill up with water rather quickly (about an hour).Do I need a air pump to push more air in the system to stop this overflow?. 2: bubbles, lots of em in my tank.. Anyway to get rid of the bubles? or do I live with them untill I make a sump??
I certainly appreciate any input..
Thanks

The bubbles will (or at least should) stop after the skimmer breaks in and the manufacturers coatings come off. Usually about a month or so.
As for the cup filling with water, i dont have this skimmer, nor have I ever seen it, but is there anyway to raise or lower the collection cup? If so, raise it as high as it will go and still be in contact with the water surface.
Also, is there a valve on the airline that is adjustable to open more for increased air flow?

Thanks for the quick reply.. Yes the collection cup could be raised up about 1 - 2" before the rubber gasget hits the rim of the opening. I think that should work just fine.Thier is a way to adjust the airline flow, I just had it wide open. and I sure hope the bubbles go away before I add my fish, Think that could stress them out a little..
Again Thank you
