oh I am gonna ask another rooky ?:notsure: LFS told me I didn't HAVE to have a protein skimmer with inverts. Another told me I do. so.............Does anyone NOT use a protein skimmer with inverts?
Thanks again and again and again.

Technically you don't have to have a protein for just inverts. However, I feel that every tank should have a skimmer. It is possible to keep good water quality with religious weekly water changes.

How much water would you recommend changing each week?
I have a chance to get a used skimmer from someone here, and I believe him to be very honest. He has even offered to send it and take payment later, but I don't like to do things that way.....circumstances are such that I may sorta...not be around and he won't get his money, that would be wrong. (No, I'm not on the run like a criminal....lol) I am just questioning the need and if I can get by for a while until I am caught up after severe bank account burn out from furnace, kids in sports, class trips....oh god the list is long...lol. Need to find a job, but what fun is that??? lol. I am just trying to 'maintain'. Want inverts.....but don't want to make them suffer. Hmmmm.:happyfish

IMO, if you're going skimmerless, you should change 10% of water once a week. Even if you get an inexpensive skimmer, the benefits will be noticeable. Obviously if you had money (don't we all wish we had that), you could buy an Aqua C Remora (which is the best skimmer money can buy).
