skimmer question

quick question, does anybody eles's skimmer start spitting out just water whenever you add new salt?

Not mine.
What do you mean by adding new salt? Saltwater used for water changes should be premixed before adding it to the tank.

i know that, i started my tank over and i thought it might be quicker just to add the right amount of salt right to the tank

Yeah, I imagine that would mess with a skimmer.... if you do that don't run your skimmer until it is well mixed.
