i have the coralife super skimmer. i have had problems with it. when you get it, the instructions say that it has to go through a break in phase. well mine has never come out of that break in phase.
sometimes the skimmer works great. pulls out all kind of nasty green junk, but the majority of the time i have it off because of all the bubbles it throws back in the tank. someone on here told me to get rid of the bubble defuser and get a simple filter for an outdoor water garden at home depot. so i did, and it helps, but not good enough.
i would strongly suggest going with another brand. it has really been a problem for me.

ss220 is not enuf for even a lightly stocked 180...I had one I know.
I am using a diy mrc clone on mine now, best skimmer I have ever seen.
If i were you and you want to buy a skimmer once, instead of upgrading every 6 months...I would get a mrc-mr2 and be done with it.
the asm's cant hold a candle to a mrc---as far as that goes, none of the needlewheels can until you get up to the $1200 and above range with the deltecs and bubblemasters
