Skimmer questions

I just hooked up my Jebo 180 skimmer. Alot of the water gets sucked up into the reaction chamber when you turn it on. The water just sits in there while the skimmer does it thing. Obviously the tank water level drops quite a bit. My question is should I fill the tank up with more salt water or leave it at the level it has dropped to? I assume that I should fill the tank back up.
How long does it take for the collection cup to fill up? I mean what if I am at work and it fills up and overflows all over the floor. Does it take a long time for it to fill up?
It already overflowed once because I didn't remove the air valve. Now I have the air valve completely removed and the water goes to the bottom of the cup tube which is exactly where it should go.

im guessing its a new skimmer since you just set it up, all skimmers have a break in period of at least a couple of weeks
so just leave it alone and it should start to work......well do something jebo isnt the best skimmer out there

I got the skimmer for my small 15 gallon tank. I have a better one for my 75 gallon. I just wanted something cheap for this small tank.

if the skimmer it's new it's agood idea to wash it first with hot water. the skimmer need time to break in. in it's depend in your tank to if it's new or old tank runnig . to me it's take 2 days. the air valve should to connect to the tube but open the screw .you can add more water to tank as i do to. the cup fill when the waste go up and it's depend on you water quality sometime the skimmer will not skim becuase he don't have what to skim
i will attach here picture where is my water level in this position from my experience i get the most and best skimming . by the way imo the skimmer work very good for what it cost and for the price .(it's good for smal tank)

Yeah, I completely removed the screw. I washed it out before I hooked it up. This tank is 4 weeks old. How long does it typically take for the cup to fill up?

Do you actually unplug the skimmer when you remove the collection cup to empty it?

no i just take the air valve out and wait till the water level turn down.
try not to unplug the skimmer just when you need because every time you do so the skimmer will be noise and break in again. less time then the beginning but still.
when you feeding or adding additives the skimmer will stop to skimm to after it will stabile it will skimm again.

So you just pull the air valve completely off the air line? After that you empty and clean the cup then put the cup back on and reattach the air valve?

Should the lip of the return spout meet the top of the water in the tank? It looks like it is blowing tiny little bubbles all throughout the tank since my return spout is a few inches below the water surface.
It looks like it is snowing in the tank? HELP!

this tiny bubble it's something that will be always comes and go sometime they will be in small amount and when you feeding or add... they will be more volume. if you try to close the screw in the air valve it will be more volume you can test and see.
i creat for that a buble trap ans i solved this problem. i attach here picture.
more then that i changed the pump position to vertical and i get better skimming result.but in this case you need alwayes to look on your water level in your tank i attach here picture to.

Its hard to tell what you did when looking at the picture. Did you put a plastic box underneath the return spout? Do you have another picture?

it's depend how deep is the pump in your tank and you need to check the tube pipe if it's not blocked.
try this and see if it's changed turn on the skimmer and pick up the pump close to the surface and then see if the water flow. (this was other reason that i modify the pump to vertical position)
