Skimmer recall????

I recently inquired directly to the manufacturer about an impreller problem w/ a turbo skimmer pump. I was informed that they were sending me a new pump because they are having problems w/ the pump. I asked if they have issued a recall. They said no because they have no way of identifying who has bought the equipment. Of course we know they should do more then just wait for people to complain. Very poor approach . I've also seen many references to this company's skimmers and they have not been complimentary. This is apparently why. If anyone has this problem w/ their skimmer and have figured out who I'm referring to, be sure to contack them directly. E-mail me if you have any doubts. Comments would be appreciated.

I purchased a Berlin turbo skimmer and had a problem. Apparently the impellers are defective which caused mine to stop working. It happened about 10 months after I bought it. I went to the LFS for parts but they didn't have any and weren't aware of the problem so I contacted Berlin directly. They told me, after I asked, they were having problems with the impellers and sent me a new on-no charge.

I have a turbo xl and a turbo reg. both of them stopped working when the electric went out. so I call them and they have sent me two new pumps and are working great now so they will help you. just call 1-800-redsea9

Throught recent experiences and by reading posts it seems to me that the company knows how delicate these pumps are and wouldn't hessitate to replace any damaged goods.
I too have the Berlin Turbo Classic skimmer and had to send for a new impeller. If anyone has any trouble with the pumps the Mag 5 is a great replacement. I don't recommend getting a different skimmer b/c the Berlin skimmer is a great one.

As mentioned in my post, It's great that Berlin is standing behind it's product. I just think that there is something wrong w/ waiting until someone complains before rectifying the malfunction. They should do more to notify customers of defect and explain procedure to get it replaced.
As far as it's skimming quality, I really don't know becuase I beleive it's beem malfunctioning since I bought it 7 months ago. Gald to here that someone has had good success w/ it's skimming. I do have a prizim on another tank and it does well.
