Well at this point i've decided to not drill the tank, i'm going to buy a new tank later and do it right than. Till than i need a skimmer that'll get my by for a while. Currently i have a horrible HOB skimmer, i dont think it could get any worse, i got it for $20 so u get the idea. I dont mind doing HOB but was considering maybe a overflow box, i have an old aquarium i could use for a sump if needed. What would u guys reccomend for a decent skimmer to do the job on a 75g tank that's HOB. Or if u think an overflow is the way to go what overflow? CFR? i only have a POS skimmer and a fluval canister filter so i need some help as of now. I also need more flow in the tank? would powerheads be reccomended?
I'm trying to do the right thing w/o drilling and breaking my wallet. Also was looking at buying in the classifieds for the best deals so if anyone has anything for sale feel free to let me know. thanks guys.

The Turboflotor 1000 Multi is a very nice and underappreciated HOB skimmer (it can also be setup in a sump). This skimmer works based on a similar needle-wheel design to the Euro Reef skimmer line.

For the overflow i was looking at a LifeReef, figured might as well do it right the first time if i'm not ready to drill yet(have no info on the tank). Their homepage is the only place to buy? Seems expensive buy i guess everythign in this hobby is if you don't DIY. What pump would u match it up with since i have to buy one too. thanks for the help.

A Ramora Pro is a good HOB skimmer for a 75 gal. or less and if you need, it can be adapter to a sump operation as well. CPR overflow is the way to go. I'vew never had problems with mine.
Get the "Aqualifter" pump and filter to go with it.

Im happy with my setup which is a euroreef skimmer, iwaki return pump and lifereef overflow. I had a CPR for awhile and the odds are unless they have done a lot of improvement it will fail eventually, mine did after about a year. I have been reading quite a few posts lately about cpr overflows, maybe they have changed designs or something but I still think anything that require mechanical help to run is just something more to break, then fail.
