Can anyone suggest a good skimmer to purchase? I am looking for one for my 450 gallon tank and and 120 sump. LFS suggested ALS Predator 3 with a blueline pump. Has anyone had experience with this brand or can suggest others that I should look at first.
All help will be appreciated!!! :help:

Take a look at the Aqua c EV line. Ev 400 or EV 1000 will work. I run aqua c ev 240 and it's great.

A tank that size you might consider running either a good Beckett skimmer or possibly 2 smaller needlewheel skimmers.....By running to needlewheel skimmers you could clean them at alternate times, so in effect a skimmer is always pulling.....If you want raw skimming power a Beckett would be your best choice, but you have to consider the pressure pump to run it and more noise verses going needlewheel

i saw your tank (very nice) and havy load you need a strong skimmer even 2 of them.
i have euro reef good skimmer but i saw a lot of member with big tank on other forum run with geo skimmer very good feedback , deltec one of the best and bubble king skimmer if you have the money one of this unit will be the best . again i run on 120 gallon the euro reef c8-3 rated for 250 gallon in tank like your size i would take bigger and stronger.

Geo skimmers are very nice and very good!!!!! They honestly give Euroreefs a run for the money regardless of what people might think......If your going to load heavy 2 skimmers might be your best option....

agree with you and to tell the true if i know before i bought the euro reef about the geo i would by the geo , geo have a geat product.
goodwin9 you have a great looking tank to keep it well you need 2 things strong skimming and strong circulation of the water into the tank it will move all your detritus to drain and a strong skimmer ( and in your tank size better 2 of them) will clean it.
good luck
