Skimmer waste as plant food

When I was into Freshwater aquariums I always heard to poor your water change water over your plants and gardens to help them grow.
I was wondering if watering down skimmer waste and doing the same thing would help your plants grow?

for the majority of plants, the salt content is too high in skimmate. I was hoping the same thing would work though, my bonsai would love it.

The sg of your skimmer waste is the same as the sg of your tank.
FWIW
(Yeah, OK...so I tested my skimmer waste for sg, phos,mag,etc... Must have too much time on my hands...:D )
BTW...My Euro Reef out performs my "super modified" Sea Clown in all respects....including test results...No Surprise there...:D

I "fought" it for a long time...
As a "Side Note"...
1.Switching to RO/DI water from tap ...Definate improvement...no more Diatoms
2. Moving Macros from tank to fuge...Definate improvement...More Macros, Less NitrAte, "Cleaner" looking tank
3.Switching from PC lights to MH...WOW... Big Time improvement and It's only been a week (still on "reduced" acclimation time) EVERYTHING shows improvement, color, size, extention...And I thought they were doing well before...
Point is... The "Advice" given by the "Majority" of people on this board..."IF" ("When") applied will bring about significant improvement to your tank...Even if you think they are doing "fine" now...
Sure, A lot of it is not "Cheap"...But I didn't buy anything from anybody on this board, so it's not like they were trying to "sell" me something...Just good solid advice...
And as time and "resources" (and the wife :D ) allowed, I "adapted" and changed my set up (and "tested" results) All of which were "positive" experiances...
Sorry if I'm "rambling"...I missed the "Put up or Shut up thread (computer was down...) And just wanted to share my "experience" with the "Type" of advice I've received from this board...

Squidd, I hear you about how far the wife will let you take things! I'm totally widju on that!

Jlem, have you ever heard the story about the city of Troy? To make an unbelievably long story short, once the city was burned down, they salted the land so nothing would grow back in its place.
Don't be silly . . . putting salt in your plants . . . what were you thinkin?:notsure:

I am actually not sure if you trying to flame if you just forgot to read my other post in this thread where I wondered how much salt made it up into the skimmer. Yes I am familiar that salt will kill your plants. Thanks for the history lesson. I will be sure to bring it up the next time I talk to somebody about reef tanks :notsure:
