Skimmer

Whats the best skimmer money can buy right around 100.00. I need it to run a 55 gallon I bought a sea clone but have been told nothing but bad things. Any thoughts on a good one around that price.

I have been looking for some input on the cpr bacpack. I know it runs around $119 on some websights. I know thats not the info your looking for but I will be awiting responces to your thread as well.....

I would take the bak-pak over a prism and a sea clone, and a sea clone over a prism also.

I have run a HOT CoraLife Super Skimmer model 65 on my 55 gal and it is great. My only complaints have been with the noise made by the air intake. I did some fudging with air line and some stuffing and the noise is reduced. COst me about $80 with shipping from the web.
I bought an Aquac Remora for my 72 gal as the next size up for the CL SS looked huge and Idid not want all that size and the huge collection cup showing as much. I also heard great things about the Aquac. Also I bought the surface skimmer box with it to help clear he surface water oil slick I have. So far in three weeks I only get gook in the cup when I do a water change and it is all clear. The company said I have to wait for a brak in period. I did not have to break in my Coralife. Some say I should have gone with the MAG3 pump and not the Maxi 1200 that came with it. With the surface skimmer I spent about $190 from the web. Oh, it makes more noise than the CL SS
So in my opinion the better has been Coralife SS 65 hands down for the money.
P.S. I was given a free PRIZM skimmer and it was trash.
