Skimmer

Just curious since my boom box skimmer is soooo loud I was wondering if
( when the fish go in ) can I shut that off at night so I can sleep and turn it back on in the am around 7 . the pumps heater etc. will stay on just the skimmer gets shut off for 7 hrs ? Was just wondering if they can survive or does it need to be on all day. Hint : Don't put a tank in your room if you got a skimmer

I suppose you could put it on a timer. But, there are no better results than skimming consistantly

sorry if I don't get what your saying but is it the tube I have that connects to the side and is going into a empty milk gallon :notsure: what that be the collection cup
