What are great skimmers for a 40 breeder reef tank

Depends on your price range. Are you looking to place the skimmer in a sump, or will it be hanging on back of the tank?

Price really isn't an issue and most likely back of tank

A reef octopus 105 HOB would be great. They have fail safe features that I really like and it skims like a beast.

Eshopps has some relatively cheap options. Hang on back skimmers are bulky in the tank but can be cleverly hidden.
